The challenge
I led a design team tasked to develop the core features and a shared visual language for a suite of cutting edge building management software. Not only was the scale daunting, considering the sheer amount of data visualization and information that needed to be displayed throughout a user's journey, but there was an understanding that in order to truly stand out, we needed to create an interface that rose above the dull and cluttered UI that was the norm in our competitors. We needed to create something powerful and scalable, without compromising ease of use.
Results
By consulting experts in cutting edge building management, aligning feature to market demands, and through heavy iteration, we created prototypes that secured more funding and human resources for the project, and built a solid design system for future design teams to expand upon.
